Dr. Seth Kipnis

In his practice, Dr. Seth M. Kipnis focuses on advanced laparoscopy and bariatric surgery (weight loss surgery). Specializing in all types of bariatric surgery as well as complex, advanced laparoscopic techniques para-esophageal, diaphragm hernias, reflux, colectomy, splenectomy, and hernia repairs, he provides a unique skill while treating all of his patients like family. He remains at the forefront of the most advanced techniques and procedures available in order to best meet the needs of his patients.

Dr. Kipnis was born and raised in Long Island and graduated from the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts. He received his Medical Degree in 2000 from SUNY-Health Science Center in Syracuse, New York. Dr. Kipnis completed a six-year university training program in General Surgery at the UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Piscataway/New Brunswick, New Jersey in 2006. Dr. Kipnis completed a minimally invasive surgery and bariatric fellowship while at Penn State.

Dr. Kipnis is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American College of Surgeons. He has a faculty appointment at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. As part of the teaching faculty at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, he actively instructs both residents and medical students on a daily basis.
