Dr. Karen Szymanski is a board certified plastic surgeon in Eastern North Carolina. She owns and operates her private plastic surgery clinic KDS Aesthetics in Rocky Mount and Wilson, NC. Her practice offers a range of cosmetic and reconstructive services. She values cultivating the patient provider relationship to build trust and understanding with their patients to achieve the best possible outcomes. Dr. Szymanski is a Fellow of the America College of Osteopathic Surgeons and enjoys assisting patients with both reconstructive and cosmetic goals by blending the art of plastic surgery with the technical skill and expertise needed to safely and reliably provide the best patient care.

Dr. Szymanski attended Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her general surgery training at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, New Jersey as well as a burn fellowship at Jacobi Medical Center. She was the first graduate from the plastic and reconstructive surgery program she started and assisted in national accreditation. She has an additional board certification in General Surgery. She currently lives in Rocky Mount, NC with her husband, a general surgeon, and their three Great Danes.
