Maneesh Ailawadi, MD

Dr. Maneesh Ailawadi received his bachelor of science in biology from the renowned Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He then went on to medical school at the Chicago Medical School located in North Chicago, Illinois. He remained in the Windy City to complete his residency at the University of Illinois/Mt. Sinai.

While at Mt. Sinai, Dr. Ailawadi received a grant from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and relocated to conduct research and publish papers in the area of surgical oncology and thoracic surgery. He then went on to his fellowship in thoracic surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, one of the top medical facilities in the country. While at Vanderbilt, Dr. Ailawadi gained extensive experience operating on both the stomach and esophagus.

After his fellowship, Dr. Ailawadi then went into private practice performing thoracic surgery, bariatric surgery, general surgery, and surgical oncology. He is nationally known for his bariatric procedures and one of the highest volume bariatric surgeons in the region. Dr. Ailawadi enjoys sharing his skills, knowledge, and experience with students and colleagues through his training and lectures.
