Dr. Matthew Lange is one of the Midwest’s most trusted bariatric and general surgeons, combining exceptional surgical skill with a warm, approachable style that makes patients feel at ease. Dr. Lange performs the full spectrum of bariatric and general surgery procedures, with a special focus on gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, revisional bariatric surgery, and minimally invasive techniques.

Philosophy of Care
At New You, my mission is to treat every patient as an individual – no judgment or one-size-fits-all plan. What works for one person might feel like torture for another. Our job is to figure out where your personal roadblocks are hiding, then help you build a plan that actually fits your life. I like to say our goal is to make the journey ‘as easy as possible,’ but the truth is… nothing worth doing is easy. So instead, we focus on making it doable, with structure, humor, and a whole lot of check-ins. If you need to call me at 2 a.m. because you’re not sure what to do next? Go ahead. It may take me a second to wake up (I’m not nearly as helpful before coffee 😄), but we’ll get you where you need to be.

For many of my patients, the “why” behind surgery is their family – wanting to be present for their kids, enjoy more active years with a spouse, or simply have the energy to do everyday life with the people they love. That resonates deeply with me, because I’m a family guy at heart.

My “why” is my wife of 11 years and our three daughters, Parker, Page, and Penelope. They remind me to slow down, be present, and not take life too seriously. Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors with them, exploring new places, and reflecting on the little moments that make all the difference.
